Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Diversified Fee-based Midstream ModelKeyera’s core business mixes fee-based gathering, processing, fractionation, storage and transport with marketing activities. This diversified midstream model supports stable contractual cash flows, limits single-product exposure and underpins resilient revenue and margin profiles over the next 2–6 months.
Strategic NGL Acquisitions Expand ConnectivityRecent acquisitions broaden Keyera’s NGL and condensate connectivity and market access, increasing fractionation, pipeline and terminal scale. This expands fee-based throughput potential and supports sustainable earnings growth and higher utilization as assets are integrated and commercialized over coming quarters.
Operational Execution And Realized SynergiesManagement has demonstrated repeatable execution: projects placed in service early and below budget while capturing material day‑one synergies. Realized cost and operating gains are durable drivers of margin expansion and cash generation potential as integration continues and remaining synergies are captured.
Bears Say
Deteriorating Cash GenerationTTM cash conversion weakened sharply: operating cash down materially and free cash flow negative. This erosion reduces flexibility to fund capex, dividends and deleveraging, making near‑term financing choices and integration spend more consequential for balance‑sheet stability and sustained investment.
Elevated Leverage Above TargetLeverage sits above management’s target, limiting financial flexibility and increasing refinancing and covenant risk. The multi‑year deleveraging timeline to 2028 means interest and balance‑sheet constraints could pressure investment pacing and strategic optionality during integration and market cycles.
Ongoing Competition Tribunal MatterAn active Competition Tribunal proceeding is a structural regulatory/legal overhang that can constrain transactions, impose remedies or fines, and distract management. Until resolved, it increases execution uncertainty around M&A, asset integration and commercial arrangements.

Company Description
Keyera Corp.
Keyera Corp. specializes in energy infrastructure within Canada, structured around three core operational divisions. Its Gathering and Processing segment is responsible for acquiring and refining raw natural gas through its network of pipelines and processing plants. This involves collecting the gas, removing impurities, and separating valuable components like natural gas liquids (NGLs), in addition to providing condensate handling. This division encompasses approximately 4,400 kilometers of gathering pipelines and interests in 12 active gas plants situated in Alberta. The Liquids Infrastructure segment delivers comprehensive services for NGLs and crude oil, covering everything from collection, processing, and fractionation to storage, transport, blending, and terminal services. This is supported by a robust network featuring underground NGL storage caverns, above-ground tanks, NGL fractionation and de-ethanization facilities, pipelines, and rail and truck terminals, including the Alberta EnviroFuels facility where it produces iso-octane. The Marketing segment focuses on the sale of propane, butane, condensate, and iso-octane, alongside various liquids blending activities. Founded in 2003 and originally known as Keyera Facilities Income Fund, the company adopted the name Keyera Corp. in January 2011 and maintains its headquarters in Calgary, Canada.
