Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Improved Profitability And ROENet income reached ~3.0B in 2025 and ~3.3B TTM, while net margin expanded to ~9.8% and ~10.3%. This improvement indicates stronger earnings capacity and gives Harel more internal resources to support operations, absorb variability, and invest across its insurance and savings franchises.
Diversified Insurance And Savings PlatformHarel spans insurance, pensions, long-term savings, asset management, and related financial services. This multi-line model broadens premium, management-fee, and service-income sources, reducing reliance on one product category and supporting a more resilient earnings platform over time.
Strong 2025 Cash ConversionFree cash flow of ~5.4B in 2025, equal to about 99% of net income, shows that the profitability rebound was accompanied by substantial cash generation. That conversion supports reinvestment, financial flexibility, and capital allocation across the business over the medium term.
Bears Say
Rising LeverageDebt increased materially to ~26.4B TTM, lifting debt-to-equity to about 2.0x from ~1.23x in 2023. Higher leverage makes earnings and capital more sensitive to adverse underwriting or investment outcomes and reduces financial flexibility during stressed conditions.
Volatile Cash-Flow GenerationCash generation has not tracked the earnings rebound consistently: TTM free cash flow declined to ~2.24B, conversion softened to about 88% of net income, and 2024 included negative operating and free cash flow. This volatility can constrain flexibility when cash needs rise.
Uneven Revenue TrajectoryAlthough TTM revenue growth remained positive at about 4.0%, the relatively flat 2025 result versus 2024 and earlier revenue swings show an uneven top-line trajectory. Less consistent growth can make operating leverage, resource planning, and sustained margin expansion harder to maintain.
