Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Robust Revenue And Operating MarginsVery strong TTM revenue growth combined with high EBITDA and EBIT margins indicates durable pricing power, scale and operating efficiency in Pacasmayo's core cement business. These operating fundamentals support resilient cash flow potential and competitive position across cycles.
Solid Cash Generation And FCFConsistent positive operating cash flow and substantial free cash flow provide structural capacity to fund capex, dividends and debt reduction. Even with some volatility, the company’s ability to convert operations into cash supports long-term financial flexibility and investment in the business.
Stronger Board Oversight And GovernanceA formal overhaul of key board committees (audit, governance, sustainability, antitrust) signals improved oversight and risk management. This institutionalizes controls and ESG focus, which strengthens strategic decision processes and minority shareholder protections during structural transitions.
Bears Say
Elevated LeverageMaterial leverage (debt about 1.2x equity) reduces financial flexibility in a cyclical sector and heightens sensitivity to rising rates or weaker construction demand. Sustained high leverage constrains capital allocation, increases refinancing risk and limits downside protection over months.
Net Margin CompressionWhile operating margins are strong, a falling net margin suggests heavier below-the-line costs (interest, taxes, or one-offs) reducing earnings retention. Lower net conversion undermines ability to rebuild equity, sustain dividends and deleverage, weakening long-term profitability resilience.
Change-of-control And Potential Delisting RiskHolcim’s acquisition steps, mandatory tender and stated intention to delist ADS create structural liquidity and governance risks for minority holders. Regulatory reviews and takeover conditions may alter strategic direction, limit public-market access and affect minority protections over the medium term.

Company Description
Cementos Pacasmayo S.a.a.
Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A. (CPAC) is a prominent Peruvian enterprise engaged in the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of cement and related building materials throughout Peru. Its operations are structured into three primary business units: Cement, Concrete and Precast Products; Quicklime; and the provision of Construction Supplies. The company's core product is cement, which is crucial for a broad spectrum of applications, ranging from residential and commercial construction endeavors to significant civil engineering projects. Beyond cement, CPAC produces ready-mix concrete, directly delivered and utilized at construction sites, alongside a diverse array of concrete precast elements. These precast items include paving units (such as paver stones for pedestrian walkways), various types of bricks for partition walls, and other concrete components for both structural and non-structural uses. The company also offers other cement-based goods. Furthermore, Cementos Pacasmayo produces and supplies quicklime, an essential raw material for various industrial sectors, including steel manufacturing, food processing, fishing, chemical production, mining, and agriculture. To augment its proprietary offerings, the company also distributes construction materials manufactured by external parties, such as steel rebars, cables, and pipes. As of March 31, 2022, its robust distribution system included 240 independent retail outlets and 379 hardware stores. Cementos Pacasmayo also directly supplies its products to other retailers, private construction enterprises, and governmental bodies. The company was founded in 1949, with its main office located in Lima, Peru. Cementos Pacasmayo S.A.A. operates as a subsidiary of Inversiones ASPI S.A.

CPAC Earnings Call
Q1 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presented strong strategic and operational positives — notably a binding acquisition agreement with Holcim at PEN 5.1 billion, record full‑year EBITDA (PEN 594.2m), double‑digit quarterly EBITDA and gross profit growth excluding one‑offs, significant cement sales growth, and continued ESG recognition. Offsetting these positives were meaningful one‑off transaction expenses (~PEN 77–80m) that produced a negative reported quarterly net income, higher full‑year administrative and selling expenses (notably a 50% rise in admin expenses), a notable quarterly volume decline (-8.2%), segment margin pressure from paused/ongoing projects (concrete/mortar down 25.1% q/q with a ~7.8pp margin contraction), and a higher net debt/EBITDA of 2.8x. Management expressed optimism on volumes and margins for the coming year and confidence in regulatory approval of the transaction. Overall, the strategic endorsement and solid underlying operational results outweigh near‑term transactional and project‑timing headwinds.View all CPAC earnings summariesTechnical Analysis
