Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Conservative Balance SheetExtremely low leverage (debt-to-equity ~0.01) provides durable financial flexibility to fund operations, absorb government payment timing swings, pursue selective M&A or return capital, and materially lowers solvency risk versus peers—supporting long-term operational resilience.
Sustained Profitability & Margin UpsideThe company has moved from multi-year losses to sustained profitability (TTM net margin near 20%) and management increased 2026 EBITDA margin guidance to ~28%. This demonstrates durable operating leverage, better cost control and improving unit economics tied to manufacturing scale.
Secured Public Preparedness Contracts & BARDA OrdersMeaningful, repeatable government contract backlog (DKK 2.0bn secured, additional DKK 300–500m expected, BARDA orders and >$1.2bn history) gives multi-quarter revenue visibility, supports steady manufacturing throughput and underpins embedded demand independent of commercial cycles.
Bears Say
Revenue Volatility & Lumpy Public PreparednessTop-line shows choppiness (TTM revenue decline ~4.6%) and public preparedness contract timing causes quarter-to-quarter volatility. This lumpy demand pattern complicates forecasting, can create margin swings from phasing, and reduces predictability of sustained organic growth rates.
U.S. Regulatory/Guideline Timing Risk For VimkunyaU.S. uptake of the chikungunya vaccine is materially tied to CDC publication and guidance; a 12–18 month delay is a structural regulatory dependency that can meaningfully slow the product revenue ramp in the largest market, lengthening payback timelines for launch investments.
Cash Conversion & Timing SensitivityWhile cash balances are healthy, free-cash-flow to net-income is uneven (~0.58) and Q1 showed negative operating cash flow due to a large milestone payment. This highlights working-capital and milestone timing risk that can constrain discretionary spending or buybacks if such events recur.
