Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Profitability RecoveryNet income and margins meaningfully recovered in 2025 (net income $93.7M; net margin ~16.6%; EBIT margin ~21.3%). Durable margin expansion improves internal capital generation, supports reinvestment and dividends, and reduces reliance on external financing over the medium term.
Stronger Cash GenerationOperating and free cash flow strengthened in 2025, providing reliable internally generated liquidity. Sustained FCF enhances capacity for loan growth, capital returns, or balance-sheet repair and improves resilience to interest-rate or credit-cycle shocks over the next several quarters.
Improved Capital PositionA rebuilt equity base and moderate leverage in 2024–2025 (D/E ~0.58) indicate stronger solvency and regulatory capital cushion. Improved ROE alongside higher equity supports sustainable lending capacity and lowers probability of forced deleveraging during stress periods.
Bears Say
Leverage InstabilityA dramatic leverage swing in 2023 (D/E ~2.15) shows funding and capital-structure inconsistency. Such volatility can raise refinancing risk, invite regulatory scrutiny, and force reactive balance-sheet moves that undermine long-term planning and margin stability across credit cycles.
Stagnant RevenueWith revenue flat in 2025, recent EPS gains rely primarily on margin recovery rather than top-line expansion. Lack of consistent revenue growth limits the firm's ability to scale earnings sustainably and increases dependence on cost control or one-time items to drive future profitability.
Volatile Cash Flow ConversionMaterial year-to-year swings in free cash flow and uneven conversion undermine predictability of available capital. Persistent volatility complicates capital allocation, may necessitate precautionary liquidity buffers, and reduces confidence in recurring ability to fund dividends or invest without external funding.
