Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Analyst Sentiment And Management OutlookUpgraded analyst positioning and constructive takeaways from management meetings signal improved market confidence that may attract renewed investor interest.
Loan Mix And Deposit FranchiseShift toward higher-yielding loans and steady core deposit growth is expected to lift overall loan yields and support a stronger return on assets above 1% by the end of 2027.
Net Interest MarginBack-book loan repricing combined with lower funding costs should allow net interest margin to expand toward and above 3.5%, supporting higher core profitability.
Bears Say
Provision Expense And Earnings PressureHigher expected provision expense has led analysts to lower 2026 earnings forecasts, putting pressure on reported profitability and investor expectations.
Rent-regulated Credit ExposureExposure to rent-regulated multifamily loans raises credit concerns amid New York policy shifts that could increase owner financial strain and elevate loss provisions.
Valuation RiskShare appreciation of roughly 16% has prompted a downgrade based on valuation, which could limit further upside until fundamentals clearly justify the higher price.

DCOM Earnings Call
Q3 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was strongly positive overall. Management reported record revenue, 53% year-over-year EPS growth, 10 consecutive quarters of NIM expansion, 30% business loan growth, strong deposit generation, improved efficiency, reduced CRE concentration, and attractive economics for the Empire State Bank acquisition. The main challenges were higher NPAs and provisions, continued multifamily runoff, declining consumer deposits, potential deposit-cost increases from additional rate hikes, and transaction costs and capital usage related to the acquisition. The stated growth, profitability, and credit trends significantly outweighed the disclosed challenges.View all DCOM earnings summariesDCOM Stock 12 Month Forecast
