Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Improved LeverageMaterial deleveraging meaningfully lowers funding and solvency risk for an NBFC. A sub-0.5x debt-to-equity ratio and much lower absolute debt increase financial flexibility, support lending capacity and cushion against credit shocks over the medium term.
Return To Sustained ProfitabilityConsistent multi-year net profitability and recovered operating profit indicate a structural turnaround vs prior losses. Sustainable earnings provide internal capital for provisioning, lending growth and reinvestment, strengthening long-run viability if maintained.
Strong FY2026 Cash GenerationA large positive operating and free cash flow swing improves liquidity and funds operations without reliance on volatile external funding. Durable cash generation supports deleveraging, working capital and new lending initiatives if the company sustains this cash conversion.
Bears Say
Cash Flow VolatilityHistoric swings between large negative and positive cash flows reduce predictability of funding and credit deployment. For a financing franchise, unpredictable cash conversion complicates provisioning, capital planning and sustained lending growth over the next several quarters.
Low Return On EquityA low ROE implies limited balance-sheet productivity and weak earnings per unit of equity. Even with lower leverage, poor returns constrain the firm’s ability to build capital organically and to deliver durable economic returns relative to peers over time.
Prior Deep Losses And Revenue VolatilityA recent period of deep losses and uneven revenue trends signals structural cyclicality or credit stress in the borrower base. That legacy increases downside risk that profitability and cash strength could reverse if macro or sector credit conditions deteriorate.
