McDonald’s is facing mounting unrest from its U.S. franchisees right as the company is planning aggressive expansion, Bloomberg’s Leslie Patton reports. Strained by higher costs and frustrated with new operating rules, franchisees are joining a meeting this month with the burger giant’s board to press their case in person, the author says. The session will give such franchisees "an opportunity to share with the board of directors why we believe we are on a destructive path," according to a group of owners in an emailed newsletter.
