A Delaware court said McDonald’s board members did not violate their duty to shareholders in the handling of sexual harassment and misconduct allegations, ruling that the directors’ response was legally sufficient, Richard Vanderford of The Wall Street Journal reports. While there were red flags about problems with sexual harassment and misconduct at the company, Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster of the Delaware Court said the board took action. The lawsuit had centered around claims of a boys’ club-type atmosphere at McDonald’s, with frequent gatherings at an open bar at the headquarters and alleged encouragement to hire young women to work administrative roles there.
