Google plans to roll out AI-powered search features, WSJ reports

Google (GOOG;GOOGL) is planning to provide details on new search features powered by artificial intelligence, AI, a day after Microsoft (MSFT) announced it was building the technology behind ChatGPT into its Bing search engine, Sam Schechner and Miles Kruppa of The Wall Street Journal reports. At an event on Wednesday, the Alphabet unit showed new types of search results that include more direct and lengthy textual responses generated in response to long queries, the Journal said, citing a screenshot of one results. The new AI features will "distill complex information and multiple perspectives into easy-to-digest formats," Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in an internal email, according to the Journal.
