Sony Pictures Television (SONY) and CBS (PSKY) have reached a settlement agreement to resolve a year-long court dispute over the distribution of game shows “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune,” The Hollywood Reporter’s Rick Porter reports. Under the terms of the pact, Sony will gradually take over various aspects of the distribution of each show, beginning with international markets on December 1, while CBS will continue to distribute both shows in the U.S. through the 2027-2028, after which Sony will assume control, the authtor notes. Additionally, Sony will oversee marketing, promotion, and affiliate relations after the current season, though CBS Media Ventures will assume a bigger role in ad sales, exclusively handling that side of the business through 2029-2030, the author says. “We have reached an amicable resolution regarding the syndicated distribution of Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune,” Sony Pictures TV and CBS Media Ventures, the syndication arm of CBS, said. “We look forward to working together to continue bringing these beloved shows to audiences and stations around the world.”
