"Box Office Battle" is The Fly’s weekly roundup of what movies topped the weekend’s box office.
Paramount’s (PARA) “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” opened to $38.5M at the domestic box office, topping the chart. The movie has an earned an A- CinemaScore from audiences. Overseas, “Dungeons & Dragons” debuted to $33M for a global start of $71.5M.
BOX OFFICE RUNNER-UPS: Lionsgate’s (LGF.B) “John Wick: Chapter 4” fell to number 2 with $28.2M for a domestic cume of $122.9M. Behind it was Paramount’s “Scream VI” with another $5.3M for a domestic tally of $98.2M. “His Only Son” placed number 4 with just under $5.3M. Rounding out the top five, MGM (AMZN) and Michael B. Jordan’s “Creed III” grossed an estimated $5M for a domestic tally of $148.6M.
