President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister, PM, Fumio Kishida have enlisted Amazon (AMZN) and Nvidia (NVDA) to fund a new joint artificial intelligence research program, Justin Sink and Yoshiaki Nohara of Bloomberg says. Nvidia, Amazon, Arm Holdings (ARM), and Microsoft (MSFT), along with a group of Japanese companies, will provide $110M for AI research partnerships between the University of Washington in Seattle and Tsukuba University outside Tokyo as well as partnerships between Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and Tokyo’s Keio University, Kishida and Biden said in a joint statement.
