Apple has confirmed that it was messing with iPhone web apps in the European Union on purpose, TechCrunch’s Sarah Perez reports. Following developer complaints of the bug that was breaking progressive web apps in the EU, the tech giant explained why, blaming the Digital Markets Act for the change and saying that the complexities involved with the new regulation’s requirement is the root cause, the author notes.
