Amazon’s latest perk is access to a virtual doctor, as the company works to have medical care delivered seamlessly to customers, Matt Day and Drake Bennett of Bloomberg report. But, after spending almost a decade and billions trying to re-invent American health care, Amazon settled on a traditional approach, running doctors’ offices and pharmacies itself while offering Prime subscribers a $100 discount on memberships with One Medical. While there is some added technology in its strategy, most industry observers are disappointed and hoped the company’s entry into the space would have meant radical breakthroughs.
