Apple’s (AAPL) agreement to use Google (GOOG;GOOGL) as the default search engine on the iPhones includes a provision that says the two companies will “support and defend” the deal against regulators and scrutiny, Emily Birnbaum, Mark Gurman, Leah Nylen, and Sabrina Willmer of Bloomberg reports, citing comments made by an Apple executive at an antitrust trial. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue disclosed Tuesday that the longtime contract between the two companies was renegotiated in 2016 to include this provision.
