Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was strongly positive. Vertiv reported substantial year-over-year growth in revenue, operating profit, EPS, margins, orders, and free cash flow; exceeded Q3 guidance; raised full-year guidance across all key metrics; and described strong demand, pipeline visibility, capacity expansion, technology momentum, and a favorable 2027 outlook. The company also acknowledged supply chain recovery work, capacity-ramp inefficiencies, higher inventory and CapEx, ongoing inflation, industry pacing items, and continuing product-quality improvement efforts, but these challenges were presented as manageable while growth and execution remain strong.Company Guidance
Strong Third-Quarter Revenue Growth
Net sales increased 61% year over year to approximately $4.3 billion, with organic sales growth of approximately 55% and an additional 6% from acquisitions. Growth was broad based across regions, with the Americas up 75%, APAC up 50%, and EMEA up 23%.
Significant Operating Profit and Margin Expansion
Adjusted operating profit exceeded $1 billion, increasing 83% year over year. Adjusted operating margin was 25.2%, up 290 basis points year over year and 70 basis points above the midpoint of guidance, driven by higher sales volume, operating leverage, and continued productivity.
Adjusted EPS and Free Cash Flow Growth
Adjusted diluted EPS was $2.21, up 78% year over year and $0.41 above the midpoint of guidance. Adjusted free cash flow was $652 million, up 50% year over year, or $216 million, driven by higher adjusted operating profit.
Raised Full-Year 2026 Guidance
The company raised guidance across all key metrics. Net sales are now expected to be $14.7 billion, an increase of $650 million from the July guidance and approximately 43% above 2025, including approximately 38% organic growth, 4% from acquisitions, and 1% from favorable currency. Adjusted diluted EPS is expected to be $7.15, up approximately 70% from 2025. Adjusted operating profit is expected to be approximately $3.5 billion, up 68% year over year, with adjusted operating margin of approximately 24%, up approximately 360 basis points. Adjusted free cash flow guidance was raised to $2.7 billion, up 43% from 2025.
Very Strong Order Momentum and Pipeline
Q3 organic orders were more than 100% above the prior year. Management described the pipeline as very strong and broad based across technologies, customer types, and regions, and expects another year of robust orders growth. The order strength was described as above market growth and not dependent on Neocloud.
Broad Regional Performance
Americas Q3 net sales were approximately $3 billion, up 75%, with organic growth of 66% and an adjusted operating margin of 29.4%. APAC net sales were $779 million, up 50%, with organic growth of 48% and an adjusted operating margin of 17%, up 380 basis points. EMEA net sales were $545 million, up 23%, with organic growth of 19% and an adjusted operating margin of 28%.
Capacity Expansion Across Regions
The company is making significant global capacity investments. In the Americas, it announced new facilities for infrastructure solutions, power management, thermal management, and rack systems. In EMEA, it is expanding the Slovakia campus, scaling power facilities in Ireland, and remains on track to double chiller production capacity by year end. In APAC, the new Johor Malaysia factory is operational and strengthening service coverage across Southeast Asia and Australia.
Improving Operational Execution
Revenue growth reflected ongoing capacity expansion, improving utilization, adoption of the vertical operating system, disciplined backlog execution, and increasingly mature execution of complex converged infrastructure projects. Management said the capacity additions were already contributing to Q3 and Q4 growth.
AI Infrastructure and Time-to-Token Advantage
Work with NVIDIA on the OneCore Smartron system and Polar Data Center is intended to reduce time-to-first-token. Digital-twin validation can reduce design time by a factor of 10x, while factory-built and modular infrastructure can cut deployment time by up to half. Management said the approach can produce up to 30% more cumulative AI token output in the first 12 months from project kickoff, with the same installed capacity.
Progress in Converged Infrastructure Deployments
Olo Data Center is applying the approach at the first 41-megawatt phase of its Heroya campus in Norway, with scalability to 100 megawatts. Vertiv also cited its collaboration with SGC Energy and KT Cloud on the Gunsan AI Data Center Project in South Korea, which uses converged infrastructure to accelerate time-to-token and deliver at scale.
Positive 2027 Demand Outlook
Management expects continued significant above-market organic sales growth in 2027, strong growth across all financial metrics, continued margin expansion, and significant adjusted free cash flow. The company expects to keep investing in engineering and R&D, capacity, supply chain, and services while pursuing targeted acquisitions.
Strategic Acquisitions Expand Capabilities
Vertiv closed the acquisition of Utility Innovation Group, adding microgrid solutions, advanced power controls, and behind-the-meter power design capabilities. It also closed the acquisition of King Environmental Services, expanding fluid management and load-testing services in Europe.
Strong Customer Relationships and Large-Scale Projects
EdgeConneX and Vantage Construction Europe continue to expand globally with Vertiv as their preferred end-to-end powertrain, thermal chain, and services partner. Management said Vertiv's innovation, quality, scale, and reliability are enabling gigawatt-scale facilities across multiple locations.
Services and Liquid Cooling Momentum
Management described services as an important differentiator and said service attach rates are evolving positively. It also said the market mix is moving toward liquid cooling, that Vertiv is satisfied with its win rates and leadership in the area, and that the company feels good about liquid cooling across the business, including service attachment.
Progress Toward 800-Volt DC Products
The company said demand is evolving consistently with its previously described 800-volt DC roadmap. Full native 800-volt DC is in customer validation, is expected to begin generating revenue during 2027, and is expected to move into broader market deployment in 2028.
Strong Balance Sheet and Capital Flexibility
Net leverage was negative 0.2x at quarter end, which management said provides significant strategic flexibility. The company intends to retain capacity for investments in its own capabilities and capacity as well as scalable inorganic opportunities, while continuing to evaluate buybacks and dividends.
