Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Revenue And Margin ExpansionStrong revenue growth alongside recovering gross margins indicates improving demand, utilization and manufacturing efficiency. If sustained, this combination can strengthen unit economics and move the printer and RPS businesses toward a more scalable operating model.
Defense Market ValidationDefense awards and qualification expand Velo3D’s credibility in demanding production applications and can support repeat orders over multiple years. Institutional adoption also strengthens its reference base and may reduce barriers to broader aerospace and industrial customer penetration.
Balance Sheet StrengtheningHigher liquidity and materially lower debt improve financial flexibility for capacity expansion, technology development and customer deployments. The stronger capital structure reduces near-term solvency pressure while the company works to convert growth into internally funded operations.
Bears Say
Persistent Losses And Cash BurnDespite improving revenue and gross margin, Velo3D has not demonstrated self-sustaining economics. Continued losses and negative free cash flow can erode equity, require additional financing and limit the company’s ability to fund growth without dilution.
Heavy Capital RequirementsThe planned investment needed to expand manufacturing and production capacity is large relative to the company’s operating history. Significant funding needs increase execution and financing risk, particularly if profitability is delayed or growth requires further capital.
Scaling And Procurement RiskThe strategy depends on building and deploying substantially more machines while converting government and industrial demand into revenue. Supply-chain issues, customer qualification delays or procurement timing could make revenue less predictable and slow operating leverage.

VELO Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call conveyed significant operational and commercial progress: strong revenue growth (+48% YoY), meaningful gross margin recovery (17.2% in Q1 versus negative prior quarter), expanding RPS mix (≈25% of revenue) and major defense awards that validate product-market fit. Financially, the company improved losses, reduced debt by ~70%, and secured a $50M equity raise after quarter-end to bolster liquidity. Key risks remain: a modest cash position at quarter end, ongoing negative EBITDA (improving), substantial planned CapEx ($40M–$50M), and execution/scale and procurement timing risks. Overall, the positives (revenue acceleration, margin expansion, strategic contracts, balance sheet repair) materially outweigh the remaining execution and funding risks.View all VELO earnings summariesVELO Stock 12 Month Forecast
