Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Profitability And GrowthStrong recent revenue and profitability show that the operating base is generating substantial earnings, with gross, EBIT, and net margins all elevated. This improves internal funding capacity and provides a stronger platform for exploration, development, and mine-life expansion over the next several quarters.
Conservative Balance Sheet And LiquidityVery low leverage and record liquidity give Avino meaningful flexibility to fund La Preciosa development, exploration, and sustaining needs without relying heavily on new borrowing. The large cash buffer also improves resilience if metal prices or operating conditions become less favorable.
Large Reserves And Resource GrowthThe reserve and resource base supports a longer-duration mining business and creates a foundation for production growth beyond current operations. This milestone strengthens mine-life visibility, while the substantial measured, indicated, and inferred inventory provides continued exploration and development potential.
Bears Say
Free Cash Flow VolatilityAlthough operating cash flow is solid, free cash flow has varied materially and remains well below reported earnings after investment and working-capital requirements. That uneven conversion can constrain discretionary capital allocation and make internally funded growth less predictable across mining cycles.
Elevated Development Costs And Currency PressureProcessing development ore has temporarily lifted cost per ton and cost per ounce, while Mexican peso appreciation adds further pressure to U.S.-dollar-reported costs. Unless higher-grade production normalizes unit costs, these pressures could reduce margin durability during the development period.
Commodity Cyclicality And Ramp UncertaintyThe sharp improvement from weak or near-breakeven results in 2021–2023 demonstrates sensitivity to metal prices and operating leverage. At the same time, the timing of La Preciosa’s full ramp remains under study, making future production growth and earnings progression less certain.

ASM Earnings Call
Q2 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call presented a predominantly positive operational and financial picture: strong cash generation, record liquidity, meaningful inaugural mineral reserves and resource growth, and clear progress at La Preciosa (59% development production increase). Material near-term headwinds were disclosed — a $5M provisional pricing hit, strengthened Mexican peso (≈12–15%), elevated short-term costs from processing development ore (cash cost/ton $74.72; AISC $96) and some timing uncertainty around ramp and optimization studies. On balance the strengths (profitability, balance sheet, reserves, production progress and exploration upside) materially outweigh the disclosed short-term cost and timing challenges.View all TSE:ASM earnings summariesASM Stock 12 Month Forecast
