New Source Energy
New Source Energy Partners L.P. was an American enterprise primarily focused on the acquisition, ownership, development, and production of oil and natural gas properties across the United States. Its operations were divided into two key areas: Exploration and Production, and Oilfield Services. As of December 31, 2014, the company controlled significant hydrocarbon assets, including 145,919 gross acres within Oklahoma's east-central Golden Lane, Luther, and Southern Dome fields. It also possessed rights to 83 gross proved undeveloped drilling locations. At that time, its total proved reserves were approximately 16.3 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMBoe). Beyond resource extraction, New Source Energy also delivered a range of specialized wellsite services. These included essential support for drilling and completion phases, such as blowout prevention, surface valve management, and flowback services, catering to both horizontal and vertical wells in North American oil, natural gas, and NGL production areas. New Source Energy GP, LLC served as the entity's general partner. Founded in 2012, the firm was headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. However, on March 15, 2016, New Source Energy Partners LP, alongside an affiliated company, sought Chapter 7 liquidation by filing a voluntary petition in the US Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
