Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Captive Power IntegrationOwning and operating power generation alongside steel production is a durable structural advantage: it secures energy supply, reduces exposure to external power price shocks, and can lower unit costs or generate incremental third‑party revenue, supporting steadier operations over months.
Improved LeverageMaterial de‑leveraging increases financial resilience in a cyclical industry. Lower leverage improves refinancing flexibility, reduces interest burden risk, and gives headroom for capex or cyclical downturns, strengthening solvency over the medium term.
Return To Revenue GrowthA renewed top‑line expansion after choppy years signals demand resilience or improved sales execution. Sustainable revenue growth supports scale benefits, helps leverage fixed costs, and underpins longer‑term margin recovery if maintained.
Bears Say
Negative Free Cash FlowSharp negative FCF is a durable concern: it constrains organic reinvestment, dividend capacity, and debt paydown. Persistent negative conversion forces reliance on external funding or asset sales, increasing financial risk across several quarters.
Margin CompressionSustained margin erosion reduces earnings power and cash generation even if revenues rise. Lower margins reflect cost or mix pressures and make the business more sensitive to input cost shocks, weakening structural profitability over the medium term.
Moderating Returns On EquityA marked decline in ROE signals lower capital efficiency and weaker shareholder returns. Unless margins or asset turns improve, the company may struggle to justify reinvestment levels, limiting value creation over multiple quarters.
