Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Margin StabilityNet margins have remained around 11–12% across multiple years and the TTM period, indicating consistent core profitability. Stable margins support earnings predictability, help absorb cyclical loan losses, and reflect lasting pricing or cost controls that underpin medium-term cash generation.
Diversified DistributionA multi-channel distribution model (branches plus digital) supports durable customer access and deposit gathering. This breadth enables cross-selling across retail, SME and corporate segments, improving stickiness of deposits and long-term franchise value versus single-channel competitors.
Diverse Income StreamsThe bank earns interest, fee/commission, trading and other operating income, providing multiple durable revenue pillars. That mix reduces reliance on any single rate or market environment, helping to stabilize revenue through rate cycles and product mix shifts over a 2–6 month horizon.
Bears Say
Revenue ContractionTop-line decline (TTM -2.8% and longer-term negative growth) signals weakening franchise momentum. Persistent revenue contraction reduces scale benefits, limits ability to offset costs, and constrains investment in digital and product initiatives that drive medium-term competitiveness.
Weak Cash GenerationOperating and free cash flow swung deeply negative across 2024–TTM, undermining internal funding for lending and capital needs. Poor cash conversion raises reliance on wholesale funding, limits capital allocation flexibility, and heightens vulnerability to tighter financing conditions.
Higher Leverage And Low ROEReturn on equity is modest (~4.7% TTM) while leverage jumped notably in the TTM period. Higher leverage increases balance-sheet risk and reduces resilience to shocks, while low ROE implies limited profitability versus equity, constraining long-term capital generation and strategic flexibility.
