Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q3 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 28, 2026|

Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was broadly positive: the company reported 3.4% organic growth across both segments and all regions, stronger profitability, over SEK 400 million of quarterly cash generation, net leverage of 1x, progress on restructuring, and encouraging product-launch feedback. The main challenges were the approximately 4% organic decline in Food & Beverage Americas, softer Laundry performance in parts of Europe, elevated working capital and inventory, higher transportation and upcoming direct-material costs, and the continued need to improve the U.S. Food & Beverage business. Highlights significantly outweighed the lowlights.
Company Guidance
Management confirmed the restructuring program’s yearly positive contribution of SEK 85 million on a full-year basis, with roughly SEK 25 million in quarter 3, and said year-to-date contribution is roughly SEK 65 million while the yearly guidance is around SEK 85 million; moving costs will also affect quarter 4, but no major cost is expected to hit the P&L in 2027, and group common costs are expected to trend down sequentially and remain pretty much on the same level last year besides any inflationary items. For quarter 4, management expects a positive contribution from volumes, continued pricing to compensate inflationary items, a positive contribution in terms of inventory reduction, and restructuring cash outflow of roughly SEK 50 million to SEK 60 million, most of it in quarter 4, with a minor tail into 2027 first part; further tariff refunds are expected to be a few million. Management described its outlook as cautiously optimistic, said this year would be optimistic to expect a very material impact from the new laundry line, and is really keen to see the results coming in 2027.
Broad-Based Organic Growth
Both reported segments and all three macro regions—Europe, Americas and APAC-MEA—delivered growth in the quarter. Group organic growth was 3.4%, supported by price, volume and customer care development, and order intake was up overall.
Improved Profitability
Profitability improved to 12.6%. EBITA margin expansion was driven by gross margin reaching 36.1%, compared with 34.8% on a like-for-like basis excluding items affecting comparability in the prior year.
Food & Beverage Growth and Margin Improvement
Food & Beverage organic growth was 2.3%. Europe continued its several-month trajectory of growth, APAC-MEA grew 8%, and margins improved organically. The segment received a SEK 17 million U.S. tariff refund, while baseline profitability also improved excluding the refund.
Laundry Delivered Strong Profitable Growth
Laundry organic growth was 5.2%, with margins at 18.1%. Growth was significantly delivered from North America, APAC-MEA was very positive, and order intake was positive across the different territories. Baseline profitability improved excluding the roughly SEK 9 million tariff refund.
Cash Flow and Leverage Recovered
Cash generation was over SEK 400 million in the quarter, returning to a solid and historically high level despite SEK 35 million of restructuring-related cash outflow and continued product-development investments. Net debt to EBITDA returned to 1x, and management described the balance sheet as pretty strong.
Efficiency Program Progress
The restructuring program is proceeding according to plan. It contributed roughly SEK 25 million to the quarter's P&L, approximately SEK 65 million year-to-date, and the company confirmed its full-year contribution guidance of around SEK 85 million.
Lower Finance Costs and Higher EPS
Finance costs were lower than last year due to lower borrowing and a more competitive funding structure. EPS increased to SEK 0.74 per share as a result of stronger EBIT performance and lower funding costs.
Positive Currency and Pricing Contributions
Currency translation had a positive contribution to the top line and a minor positive contribution to the bottom line, without influencing the margin as such. Price and volume both contributed to Q3 growth, with pricing helping compensate for salary and transportation-cost inflation.
Progress on Production Restructuring
The coffee facility closure and production move to the existing facility in France were underway, while the production move from Sursee to Italy was proceeding according to plan. The program is expected to provide a yearly positive contribution of SEK 85 million on a full-year basis.
Generation 7000 Laundry Launch
The first part of the Generation 7000 range launched in October, covering sub-10-kilo machines. The company described the machines as fully professional 40,000-cycle products offering speed, energy efficiency, chemical savings and water savings.
Strong Initial Product and Dealer Reception
The Generation 7000 and other innovations received a 'really, really remarkable' reaction at the Milan laundry show, with dealers commenting positively. The R+vive circular remanufactured professional laundry unit also received very positive customer reactions.
Focused Strategy and Core-Category Investment
Management is pursuing a strategy of doing fewer things with greater execution and capability, focusing disproportionately on cooking, laundry and cold beverage. The company plans to double R&D investment over time in core categories and move more people from the back end to the front end.
Customer Care and Installed-Base Opportunity
Management is making 'monetize the installed base' one of two internal commitments, with a more intentional and staged approach to customer care. The company has hundreds of thousands of assets or machines in the field and intends to increase the weight of customer care in the overall business.
R&D Discipline with Continued Investment
R&D costs decreased in absolute terms and as a percentage of sales in both Food & Beverage and Laundry in Q3. The company will continue investing in R&D, particularly in product innovation, solution innovation, connectivity and electronics, while concentrating investment on core categories.
Cautiously Optimistic Q4 View
Management expects a continued positive contribution from volumes in Q4 and expects price execution to continue compensating for inflationary items. Q3 ended with higher order intake, specifically in Laundry, and management described the outlook as cautiously optimistic.
OnE Strategy Refined
Management plans to retain the OnE concept where the company has strong fulfillment capabilities, while using a more focused best-of-breed approach in other areas and concentrating investment on selected categories such as cooking and laundry.
