Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Large Commercial Aircraft BacklogThe substantial order backlog and strong net order intake provide multi-year visibility into future commercial aircraft deliveries. This supports production planning, customer relationships, and recurring aftermarket opportunities while reinforcing Airbus’s competitive position in the global aircraft market.
Revenue And EBIT GrowthGrowth in both revenue and adjusted EBIT indicates that Airbus is converting higher delivery volumes and Defence and Space activity into operating progress. Continued earnings expansion can strengthen internal funding capacity and support investment across aircraft, defense, and space programs.
Strong Liquidity And Net CashA substantial net cash position and large liquidity reserve provide financial resilience in a cyclical, capital-intensive industry. This balance-sheet strength helps Airbus fund production ramp-up, absorb program costs, support customers, and pursue strategic opportunities without relying heavily on external financing.
Bears Say
Persistent Engine ConstraintsContinued engine shortages can restrict Airbus’s ability to convert its large order backlog into completed deliveries on the desired schedule. The constraint may limit near-term revenue realization, complicate production planning, and keep delivery guidance dependent on external engine availability.
Weak Recent Free-Cash-Flow ConversionNegative interim free cash flow despite rising earnings shows that working-capital and ramp-up requirements are absorbing substantial cash. If this pattern persists, it could reduce financial flexibility, delay cash realization from deliveries, and make reported profit less immediately available for reinvestment.
Spirit Integration Costs And Execution RiskThe difficult Spirit work-package integration creates ongoing execution costs and operational complexity, particularly with the A350 Section 15 work package still on the critical path. Further disruption could pressure margins, consume cash, and complicate Airbus’s effort to raise production reliably.

EADSY Earnings Call
Q3 2026
0:00 / 0:00
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was predominantly positive. Airbus reported higher revenue, EBIT adjusted, net income, deliveries, commercial orders and Defence and Space bookings, while reaffirming its 2026 guidance and highlighting strong liquidity and backlog support. The main challenges were negative free cash flow, the difficult Spirit integration, engine constraints, supply chain and quality issues, and a pending antitrust process, but management stated that these issues were being managed and did not materially change the delivery outlook.View all EADSY earnings summariesTechnical Analysis
