Q2 2026 Earnings Call Summary
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive
The call was strongly positive, supported by elevated demand across GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU testing; a 28% currency-adjusted first-half-to-second-half top-line growth outlook; market share growth from 56% in 2024 to 66% in 2025; expected further share gains; and continued capacity expansion. The main challenges were higher DDR and component costs, scarce memory, the nonrecurring nature of some first-half margin benefits, and limited disclosure on capacity timing and the quantified 2027 TAM outlook. The highlights significantly outweighed the lowlights.Company Guidance
Elevated SoC Tester Demand Across GPU, ASIC, and CPU
Demand is elevated across the entire compute device segment. GPU and custom ASIC demand remain 'very hot,' while CPU demand has become an additional growth pillar because of agentic AI, large server-device volumes, and higher CPU-to-GPU ratios for inferencing.
Accelerated Production Capacity Expansion
The company is accelerating its plan to reach 10,000 systems from the original target of the end of fiscal 2028, citing strong demand and high confidence that it can achieve the goal. Management expects to provide a more precise timeframe in the next quarter. The company is also actively discussing a further doubling from 10,000 to 20,000 systems based on customer demand.
Strong ATE Market Growth Outlook
ATE TAM CAGR has been about 50% or a little above 50% over the last couple of years, and management does not see that slowing down. Growth is expected to be led by GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU demand. Customer expectations indicate CAGRs of mid to high 50s through 2029, and management believes TAM could be in line with previous years and potentially even larger.
CPO and Terafab Provide Additional Growth Opportunities
CPO testing times are described as quite lengthy to guarantee good yields for optical engines, providing a tailwind. Management has previously expected the CPO-related business to double or triple every year for the next couple of years, reaching somewhere in the billion-dollar ATE market size. Management also agreed that the broader tester market could grow for another four to five years, while stating that Terafab is very real, could lead to meaningful future business, and reflects a genuine need for additional SoC and memory capacity.
SoC Tester Market Share Increased to 66%
SoC tester market share increased from 56% in 2024 to 66% in 2025. Management sees a path above 70% and said recent results have increased confidence that the company can reach the 70% threshold and possibly go beyond it in the near future.
Expected Market Share Gains in 2026 and 2027
Management expects to gain share in 2026 and continue gaining share in 2027, rather than having a flat year-over-year trend. Drivers include continued expansion by incumbent customers and meaningful opportunities to win accounts where the company was not previously incumbent. The 93,000 is increasingly considered an industry standard for high-performance computing.
Strong Second-Half Revenue Growth
After adjusting for currency exchange, the company expects 28% top-line growth from the first half to the second half. Management attributed the stronger outlook to faster-than-expected capacity expansion and the ability to ship more systems. SoC system shipments are expected to increase in Q3 and again in Q4, while memory systems are also expected to have a strong Q4.
Healthy Pricing and Margin Management
Management said the company is maintaining healthy margins, can absorb increased component costs, does not expect a material pricing impact, and intends to maintain competitive pricing. New configurations, licensing, and instrumentation provide opportunities to reprice products without simply applying a direct price increase.
Operating Margin Expected to Settle in the Low 50s
Despite component inflation and the absence of a one-time first-half inventory reversal, management expects operating margins to settle in the low 50s. Expanding tester configurations as devices become more complex is providing margin expansion opportunities on both the SoC and memory sides.
Broad Positioning Across CPU Architectures
The company said it is well positioned across both x86 and Arm-based CPU accounts, with the same 93,000 tester positioned across those customers. Management stated that it is not materially concerned about which architecture or player gains share because the company serves both sides.
Dominant Position in High-Performance Computing
Management stated that the company probably has a majority market share across GPU, custom ASIC, and CPU testing, remains the dominant player for accelerators and custom ASICs, and is also dominant in CPU testing. Silicon Photonics market share was described as strong and growing.
Customer and Supplier Support for Memory Availability
Although memory is tight, management said customers understand that they need to provide memory for testers and that the company has very good suppliers helping it. Management cited the industry's response during the 2021 and 2022 supply-chain shortages as a precedent for coordinating component availability.
