Q3 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q3 2026
Earnings Call Date:Oct 22, 2026|% Change Since:11.87%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was strongly positive overall. Management reported historically high financial performance, a 12.9% adjusted EBIT margin, robust Plaza and recurring-revenue growth, 27% sequential order-intake growth, major customer wins, and expanding opportunities in North America, IoT, and sustainability. These strengths outweighed the year-over-year net sales decline, European softness, continued price pressure, weak Q3 cash flow, and temporary depreciation effects from the German factory closure.

Company Guidance

Pricer said the first 100 of Orange’s 561 stores will be completed in Q4, that “we will continue at least this pace for the coming couple of years” in adding connected Plaza stores, and that adding “some 500 stores” was “probably a sustainable growth pattern in terms of number of stores for the coming couple of years, most likely”; every Orange store will be connected to Plaza, the German factory closure will affect depreciation for the “coming 5 months with SEK 7.7 million,” after which depreciation will “significantly go down,” and next year Pricer will “gradually add complementary connectivity to new protocols” and look at adding “a whole lot of different IoT devices.”

  • Historically Strong Financial PerformanceManagement described Q3 financial performance as reaching historical levels, with continuous gross margin improvement for 3 quarters in a row and gross profit increasing for 3 quarters in a row.
  • Adjusted EBIT Margin Nearly DoubledThe adjusted EBIT margin was 12.9%, almost double the equivalent quarter last year. Adjusted EBIT was SEK 65 million and net profit was close to SEK 44 million.
  • Gross Margin Improvement DriversGross margin improvement was driven by customer mix, market mix, a more effective supply chain, cost reductions, Plaza development, and lower freight costs from shipping more by boat instead of by air.
  • Recurring Revenue and Plaza GrowthRecurring revenue reached almost 7.5% of net sales. Pricer Plaza revenue increased 39% compared with last year and 20% compared with Q2, driven by new Plaza deployments and migration of existing customers from on-premise systems.
  • Continued Growth in Connected StoresThe company added another 500 stores connected to Plaza, with the number of connected stores growing almost 40% versus last year and 20% versus the previous quarter. Management said adding approximately this number of stores is probably a sustainable growth pattern for the coming couple of years.
  • Order Intake GrowthOrder intake increased 27% versus the previous quarter. Management also stated that order intake had increased compared with the previous year's quarter for 3 quarters in a row.
  • Strong North American MomentumOrder intake was particularly strong in North America, supported by accelerated Sobeys deliveries, growth from announced U.S. contracts including DeCA, and positive engagement with both existing and potential new customers.
  • Orange Contract Covering 561 French StoresPricer won a contract with Orange to deploy ESLs, implementation services, and Plaza connectivity across all 561 of Orange's stores in France. The first 100 stores are scheduled to be completed in Q4.
  • Continued Growth in Scandinavia and the PacificGrowth in Norway and Sweden continued, as did growth in Australia and New Zealand. Management said the Pacific markets, which were a little low last year, were coming back strongly this year.
  • Customer and Market Expansion OpportunitiesManagement reported substantial interest in Avenue from leading retailers and brands, especially fast-moving consumer goods companies in the U.S. It also identified additional opportunities similar to Orange and expressed interest in expanding the Orange relationship into other European markets.
  • Sustainability Impact at Company ShopCompany Shop uses Pricer ESLs to continuously lower prices on surplus groceries during the day. The customer saved 11.5 million meals in food and drinks last year, while also achieving productivity improvements. Pricer was shortlisted for Best Innovation within Sustainable Retail innovation.
  • Growing Demand for In-Store IoTManagement reported real growth in demand for in-store IoT solutions, with interest driven in part by AI and the need to collect and use store data to improve the store experience and increase profit.
  • Planned IoT Portfolio ExpansionPricer plans to gradually add connectivity for new protocols next year, develop its own IoT devices, partner with other IoT-device companies, and enable additional connected in-store use cases. Management said this should lead to more connected devices, more Plaza revenue, and more add-on revenue.
  • Strong Plaza Adoption from New CustomersManagement said virtually all new customers go for Plaza from day one, including all 561 Orange stores and all Sobeys stores. The company is also discussing migration from on-premise systems to Plaza with almost all large established chains.
  • Positive Outlook for Market DemandManagement said market sentiment appears to be changing, customers are starting to invest, and there are quite a lot of opportunities in North America. It also reported growth in both net sales and order intake in North America and continued growth in Scandinavia.
  • Limited Currency ImpactThe currency effect was described as very limited, at approximately 1% to 2% on the top line.
