Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Exceptionally High Gross MarginsSustained gross margins near 96% reflect strong product economics for NovoSorb consumables and a low variable cost base. High gross margins support reinvestment in commercial expansion, absorb one-off costs, and provide durable operating leverage as sales scale across markets over the next several quarters.
Strong Revenue Growth And U.S. Commercial TractionDouble‑digit group and U.S. growth with rapid account additions and a >80‑rep U.S. sales team indicate durable demand and scaled commercial capability. Broadening account base and diversified regional gains reduce concentration risk and support sustainable revenue growth over the medium term.
Significant Manufacturing Scale-up (~5x Capacity)A validated facility with roughly fivefold capacity expansion materially reduces supply constraints and enables multi‑SKU production and outpatient sizing. Increased capacity supports durable volume growth, lower unit bottlenecks, and margin recovery once throughput normalizes over coming quarters.
Bears Say
Weak Cash Generation MetricsNegative FCF growth and low operating cash conversion versus reported earnings indicate the company currently struggles to turn profit into free cash. This constrains funding for rollouts, RCTs, and working capital, raising reliance on financing or mindful capex phasing in the medium term.
Outpatient Reimbursement Uncertainty (CMS)Potential need for a dedicated RCT to secure CMS outpatient coverage creates meaningful timing and access risk. Outpatient is a structural upside, but reimbursement uncertainty means a sizable addressable market remains untapped until trial outcomes and coding decisions materialize, delaying durable revenue.
Lumpy Burn Market And SeasonalityCore burn case volumes are inherently variable and seasonal, creating persistent quarter‑to‑quarter revenue volatility. This lumpy demand complicates capacity utilization, inventory planning and near‑term forecasting, limiting visibility for multi‑quarter financial planning despite long‑term demand.
