Bulls Say, Bears Say

Bulls Say
Strong Historical Cash GenerationConsistent free cash flow through 2021–2024 indicates the business historically converted earnings into liquidity, supporting loan originations, servicing and reinvestment without constant equity raises. That cash-generation track record is a durable operational strength even though 2025 weakened.
Partnership-driven Origination NetworkA distributed origination model using trust and commercial bank partners plus local channel partners creates scalable customer access and risk-sharing. Structural partnerships lower customer acquisition costs and allow CNFinance to focus on origination and servicing expertise rather than holding all credit risk alone.
Improving Leverage Trend Into 2024The reduction in debt-to-equity into 2024 reflects progress toward a stronger capital structure, which materially improves resilience to funding shocks and reduces interest burden. That multi-year deleveraging trend, if sustained, supports funding flexibility and long-term survivability.
Bears Say
Profitability Collapse In 2025A sharp swing to a large loss in 2025 damages retained earnings and the firm’s ability to fund originations from internal profits. Persistent loss-making undermines long-term loan growth, raises provisioning needs and can force asset sales or dilutive financing, weakening structural financial health.
Material Cash Flow Downshift In 2025The 2025 drop in operating and free cash flow reduces internal funding for loans and servicing, increasing reliance on external funding sources. That structural erosion of cash generation raises refinancing and liquidity risk and constrains strategic flexibility over coming quarters.
Major Shareholder Control Shift (May 2026)Extreme concentration of voting power with Kylin creates governance and minority-shareholder risk. Entrenched control can drive strategic decisions, capital allocation or related-party actions that prioritize majority owner objectives over minority protections, affecting long-term corporate governance.
