Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Free Cash Flow GenerationSustained, large free cash flow provides durable funding for sustaining capex, debt servicing, and shareholder returns. Over the next 2–6 months, robust FCF underpins the $750M buyback and inaugural dividend while improving liquidity and financial flexibility even if commodity cycles soften.
Material Revenue And Margin RecoveryA strong top-line rebound and healthy margins indicate improved operating leverage and scale after recent asset additions. This structural improvement supports multi-quarter cash generation and reinvestment capacity, making earnings and cash flows more resilient across the medium term.
Transformational M&A Integration And Capital-return PolicyRapid integration of New Gold assets and a strengthened capital structure enabled explicit capital-return programs. The combination of scale gains, rating upgrades, and a formal buyback/dividend policy signals disciplined capital allocation and sustainable shareholder returns over coming quarters.
Bears Say
Commodity Cyclicality And Earnings VolatilityAs a precious-metals producer, earnings and cash generation remain highly sensitive to metal prices and input costs. The prior multi-year swings to losses and negative FCF demonstrate that recent strength can reverse, exposing margins and free cash flow to cyclical downturns over the medium term.
Accounting And Balance-sheet Metric InconsistenciesMaterial jumps and inconsistent leverage metrics from purchase accounting complicate true leverage assessment. This opacity can impair credit analysis, obscure covenant risk, and delay clear visibility into sustainable capital structure and leverage trends for several quarters.
PPA And Inventory-driven CAS VolatilityPurchase-price accounting and inherited stockpiles artificially inflate reported cash costs per ounce in near term. These non-cash distortions will persist as inventory monetizes, reducing comparability of unit costs and potentially masking underlying operating performance across multiple reporting periods.

Company Description
Coeur Mining
Coeur Mining, Inc. is a company primarily focused on the exploration and development of precious metal deposits across North America, with operations spanning the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The company's key activities involve discovering and extracting resources such as gold, silver, zinc, and lead. Coeur Mining maintains a 100% ownership stake in several significant mining assets. These include the Palmarejo gold and silver mine in Chihuahua, Northern Mexico, which encompasses approximately 67,296 net acres. In northwestern Nevada, the Rochester silver and gold mine covers about 43,441 net acres. The Kensington gold mine, situated north of Juneau, Alaska, spans 3,972 net acres. Additionally, the Wharf gold mine occupies roughly 3,243 net acres in the northern Black Hills of western South Dakota, and the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in northern British Columbia, Canada, extends over 97,298 net acres. Beyond these fully-owned sites, Coeur Mining also holds interests in the Crown and Sterling projects located in southern Nevada, as well as the La Preciosa project in Mexico. The concentrates produced from its operations are then marketed and sold to various third-party customers and smelters through established off-take agreements. Historically, the company was known as Coeur d'Alene Mines Corporation before rebranding to Coeur Mining, Inc. in May 2013. Established in 1928, its corporate headquarters are located in Chicago, Illinois.
