Q2 2026 Earnings Call Summary

Q2 2026
Earnings Call Date:Aug 31, 2026|% Change Since:-23.46%|
Earnings Call Sentiment|Positive

The call was broadly positive, driven by strong GLIX1 clinical enrollment and early safety and tolerability, encouraging glioblastoma and ovarian-cancer preclinical results, continued PDAC trial enrollment, APHEXDA royalty generation, and a cash runway extending into the first half of 2027. Offsetting points included a higher quarterly net loss, flat revenue, uncertainty around the evolving PDAC treatment landscape, and the substantial work still required to expand APHEXDA adoption.

Company Guidance

BioLineRx expects the third of 5 planned GLIX1 Phase I cohorts to commence dosing in September, with the Phase I part expected to recruit up to 30 patients and Phase I data anticipated in the first half of 2027; the Phase IIa expansion is planned to include additional cohorts, including GBM, newly diagnosed and/or recurrent, as well as additional cancers with or without standard of care, for example, PARP inhibitors. The CheMo4METPANC trial’s prespecified interim/futility analysis is planned when 40% of progression-free survival events are observed, expected later this year. Cash and equivalents of $13.1 million are sufficient to fund the operating plan as currently contemplated into the first half of 2027, and the $3.75 million offering is expected to close later today.

  • GLIX1 Clinical Trial ProgressBioLineRx initiated the Phase I/IIa GLIX1 trial in March, dosed the first patient in April at NYU Langone Health, and has since enrolled patients at Northwestern University and Moffitt Cancer Center. Recruitment is progressing extremely well and according to plan; dosing has begun in the second of five planned Phase I cohorts, with the third cohort expected to commence dosing in September. The company reported that GLIX1 has shown very good safety and tolerability a little more than four months into the study and continues to anticipate Phase I data in the first half of 2027.
  • GLIX1 Differentiated Mechanism and Preclinical ProfileGLIX1 is an oral first-in-class small molecule designed to activate the TET2 enzyme and selectively induce DNA damage in cancer cells. The company highlighted blood-brain barrier penetration, cytotoxicity to patient-derived glioma stem-cell neurospheres, efficacy in orthotopic glioblastoma models and a temozolomide-resistant PDX model, activity independent of the immune system, and a clean animal safety profile that may support longer treatment durations and combination treatment.
  • Positive Glioblastoma Preclinical DataAcross three orthotopic cell-derived xenograft glioblastoma models, GLIX1 produced significant tumor growth inhibition and survival benefit at all tested doses, with greater benefit at higher dose levels. In a temozolomide-resistant patient-derived xenograft model, GLIX1 demonstrated a robust antitumor effect, while temozolomide, the current standard-of-care chemotherapy, showed no effect. The data are scheduled for presentation at the EANO 2026 and SNO 2026 conferences.
  • GLIX1 and PARP Inhibitor SynergyIn a patient-derived xenograft model of HR-proficient ovarian cancer, the low-dose GLIX1 and olaparib combination showed substantially better efficacy than the control and either monotherapy despite using lower doses of each agent. The combination achieved tumor reduction comparable to cisplatin, the current chemotherapy benchmark in this setting. BioLineRx plans to include an ovarian cancer arm in the Phase IIa expansion, will present the data at ESMO in October, and has begun discussions with several PARP inhibitor developers regarding potential collaborations.
  • PDAC Trial Enrollment Tracking WellEnrollment continues to track well in Columbia University's randomized Phase IIb CheMo4METPANC trial evaluating motixafortide with cemiplimab, gemcitabine, and nab-paclitaxel in pancreatic cancer. A prespecified interim/futility analysis is planned after 40% of progression-free-survival events have occurred, expected later this year.
  • APHEXDA Sales and Royalty RevenueAPHEXDA sales reached $1.6 million in the second quarter of 2026, generating $0.3 million of royalty revenue for BioLineRx. The company said the Ayrmid team continues to make progress driving APHEXDA adoption.
  • Cash Runway and Additional FinancingBioLineRx ended the quarter with $13.1 million in cash and equivalents, which management said is sufficient to fund the operating plan as currently contemplated into the first half of 2027. The company also announced a $3.75 million registered direct offering expected to close later on the day of the call and cited nondilutive royalties and milestone-driven revenue from its Ayrmid and Gloria Biosciences license agreements.
  • Lower Nonoperating ExpensesNonoperating expenses decreased to $0.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026, from $1.9 million in the comparable 2025 period, a decline of approximately 63.2%. In both periods, these expenses primarily related to fair-value adjustments of warrant liabilities.
  • Continued Investment in GLIX1Research and development expenses increased to $2.9 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026, from $2.3 million in the comparable 2025 period, an increase of $0.6 million or approximately 26.1%, primarily reflecting expenses related to the new GLIX1 project and offset by lower motixafortide-related expenses.
  • Large Unmet Need and Market Opportunity in GlioblastomaManagement emphasized that glioblastoma remains one of the most aggressive and treatment-resistant cancers, with median survival following diagnosis of approximately 12 to 18 months. Annual GBM incidence is expected to reach over 18,000 patients in the U.S. and over 13,000 across the EU 4+1 by 2030, representing a combined total addressable market of more than $3.7 billion in the U.S. and Europe alone.
