Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Strong Cash Generation & LiquiditySustained operating cash flow and sizable free cash flow, plus a >$1.1B treasury, give durable internal funding for dividends, expansions and optional investments. Strong cash conversion (OCF > net income) supports capital allocation and resilience across mid‑term commodity cycles.
Conservative Leverage And Improving ReturnsVery low net leverage and recovering ROE provide financial flexibility to fund growth, absorb shocks, and maintain distributions without urgent refinancing. A conservative balance sheet reduces execution risk on multi‑year projects and helps preserve liquidity through commodity downturns.
Resource Growth And Capacity Expansion PipelineAggressive exploration and disclosed resource uplifts coupled with mill throughput expansions create durable production optionality. Organic resource additions and plant/ramp upgrades underpin medium‑term growth capacity and reduce reliance on M&A to expand output across a multi‑year horizon.
Bears Say
Commodity Price CyclicalityRevenue, margins and cash flow remain highly sensitive to silver and gold prices; past multi‑year swings show profits can reverse quickly. This structural exposure means durability of current profitability depends on sustained metal prices, creating medium‑term earnings and cash flow uncertainty.
Rising Per‑ounce Cost PressuresManagement’s lower cutoff grade strategy and higher throughput trade longevity for lower grades, raising AISC. Concurrent increases in profit‑sharing, smelter charges and royalties scale with prices and can structurally compress margins, limiting the upside from higher metal prices over time.
Jerritt Canyon Restart: Capex & Schedule RiskThe Jerritt restart hinges on significant investment, long‑lead underground fleet and completion of prefeasibility work. Execution, procurement and scheduling risks can delay production and tie up capital, weakening near‑term growth visibility and potentially increasing financing or operating costs.
