Bulls Say
Record Backlog And Order VisibilityThe record backlog and strong order intake provide substantial multi-year revenue visibility for Saab. Major platform programs can support deliveries, development work, upgrades, and lifecycle services, helping sustain production levels and strengthen planning confidence over the next several years.
Strong Growth And Margin ExpansionRapid organic growth combined with improving EBIT margins indicates that Saab is converting expanding demand into stronger operating profitability. This supports internal investment, reinforces competitiveness in defense systems, and may improve earnings durability as volumes scale.
Healthy Liquidity And Balance SheetSolid liquidity and an investment-grade BBB+ rating give Saab financial capacity to fund production expansion, research, and contract execution. The balance sheet provides resilience while defense programs grow, reducing reliance on external funding during periods of working-capital need.
Bears Say
Cash Conversion Remains Below TargetCash conversion below target means reported earnings are not yet translating fully into available cash, potentially reflecting working-capital demands or investment requirements. If this persists, it could constrain flexibility and make funding growth less efficient despite strong profitability.
Supply Chain And Component Cost PressurePersistent component bottlenecks and higher input costs can slow Saab’s ability to increase deliveries and pressure margins on long-duration programs. Supplier diversification, inventories, and insourcing may help, but the company identifies supply constraints as a continuing growth limitation.
T-7 Program Under-absorptionOngoing T-7 under-absorption represents a durable drag on Aeronautics profitability because production has not yet reached the scale needed for positive contribution. The expected multi-quarter or multi-year recovery extends the period of execution risk and earnings pressure.
