Bulls Say, Bears Say
Bulls Say
Conservative Balance SheetDebt-to-equity near zero and a sizable equity base reduce solvency pressure. This conservative structure gives Oramed room to fund clinical development or pursue partnerships without the constraints associated with heavily leveraged biotech peers.
Oral Biologic Delivery PlatformOramed’s focus on oral delivery of biologics targets a meaningful formulation challenge in diabetes. If development succeeds, an oral alternative could improve convenience and support differentiated partnering or licensing opportunities.
Flexible Licensing-Based MonetizationTechnology licensing can create non-linear revenue through upfront, milestone and royalty payments without requiring a full commercial sales infrastructure. This model provides strategic flexibility while candidates progress through development.
Bears Say
Persistent Cash BurnPersistent negative operating and free cash flow means clinical development is not self-funded. Continued cash burn may require financing, asset monetization or partnerships, creating execution and potential dilution risks over the medium term.
Weak Core Operating EconomicsLimited revenue and deeply negative EBIT indicate that reported profitability is not yet supported by a durable operating engine. This leaves results dependent on volatile non-operating items or transactions rather than recurring commercial performance.
Counterparty Repayment ExposureOramed remains exposed to the timing and form of Scilex repayment, including possible settlement in registered equity. Delays or equity settlement could weaken cash recovery, increase uncertainty and complicate capital allocation.
