Brazil-based StoneCo Ltd. (STNE), a provider of financial technology solutions, was the biggest gainer in pre-market trading, jumping around 27% at the time of writing. Positive sentiment followed strong fourth-quarter 2021 revenue, a robust outlook, and management changes. For the fourth quarter, the company reported adjusted EPS of R$0.13, while total revenue came in at R$1.87 billion, up 87% year-over-year.
Another gainer, VeriSign, Inc. (VRSN) had gained 9.4% in pre-market trading at last check. The company, which operates a diverse array of network infrastructure, has not released any fundamental news to explain the trading frenzy.
Meanwhile, GameStop Corp. (GME), an American video game, consumer electronics, and gaming merchandise retailer, had lost about 8.5% in pre-market trading at the time of writing. The company reported a surprise loss for the fourth quarter of Fiscal 2021 (ended January 29), compared with expectations of earnings by analysts. Meanwhile, net sales beat the Street’s estimate.
CBIZ, Inc. (CBZ) rose in pre-market trading, surging 7.4% at the time of writing. Though there is no fundamental news explaining the spike for the provider of financial, insurance, and advisory services, it seems volatile markets have driven positive sentiment.
China-based GDS Holdings Limited (GDS) rounds off the list. It had gained 5.7% in pre-market trading at last watch. It seems that China’s top policymakers’ recent statement to boost the economy and stabilize capital markets has eased investors’ concerns over the data center operator.
