The Department of Health and Human Services is opening a probe into UnitedHealth following a cyberattack on its subsidiary, Change Healthcare, The Washington Post’s Dan Diamond reports. The investigation will focus on identifying the extent of the breach and compliance by UnitedHealth and Change Healthcare with HIPAA. “Given the unprecedented magnitude of this cyberattack, and in the best interest of patients and health care providers, OCR is initiating an investigation into this incident,” the HHS Office of Civil Rights said.
