Tripadvisor (TRIP) plans to merge the operations of its core brand and its Viator experiences business and the company is also set to announce layoffs Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter told Skift’s Dennis Schaal. A “substantial portion” of the Tripadvisor engineering team are expected to be let go, though major cuts are not expected at Viator or TheFork, the report said.
