After the U.S. Army announced that it has awarded the Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft, or FLRAA, program to Bell Textron (TXT), Morgan Stanley analyst Kristine Liwag said she sees this award as "a critical development" for Textron that should drive long-term U.S. military aircraft growth at Bell, adding that she expects this news to be "positively received by the market." Textron bested the Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Boeing (BA) team’s DEFIANT X aircraft in the competition and the pair could still potentially protest the award decision, which could ultimately drive incremental delays until resolved, noted Liwag, who has an Overweight rating and $84 price target on Textron shares.
