Barclays analyst Dan Levy lowered the firm’s price target on Tesla to $180 from $225 and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the shares ahead of the Q1 report. The analyst expects a Q1 miss amid soft margins, but says expectations are low. Tesla’s Q2 could have downside if prices need to be cut given inventory build, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm believes plans for the Model 2 will likely get the most attention but it does not expect a satisfying answer. The Q1 earnings call will be a negative catalyst for the stock, contends the firm.
