Elon Musk is going to court in a securities-fraud trial over posts from 2018 where he tweeted on the possibility of taking Tesla private, Rebecca Elliot and Meghan Bobrowsky of The Wall Street Journal report. An in-person jury is set to begin Tuesday. The trial originates from one of Musk’s tweets from August 2018 in which he said, "Am considering taking Tesla private at $420. Funding secured." Glen Littleton, an investor, sued Musk and Tesla’s board members, alleging the CEO’s tweets were false and cost investors billions. In court filings, Musk said he was considering taking Tesla private and had believed he had the support of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign-wealth fund. The deal would have been valued at $72B, but it never materialized. Reference Link
