Half the workforce at a Samsung plant that makes appliances in Chennai are on strike, The Financial Times’ John Reed reports. About 900 workers at the factory that makes TVs, refrigerators and washing machines were on strike as of Wednesday, a person briefed on the matter said. “We actively engage with our workers to address any grievances they may have and comply with all laws and regulations,” Samsung India said. “We will also ensure that there is no disruption to our consumers.”
