Novo Nordisk (NVO) has hired Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies to fill Wegovy injection pens, as the Danish drugmaker scrambles to boost output of its hugely popular weight-loss drug, Reuters’ Maggie Fick reports, citing a person familiar with the matter. Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies, a subsidiary of Japan’s Fujifilm, is the third contract manufacturer Novo has hired to fill Wegovy pens – in addition to Catalent (CTLT) and Thermo Fisher (TMO) – as it spends billions to ramp up production to meet skyrocketing demand and ease shortages, the author notes.
