The U.S.Army says Microsoft’s improved HoloLens-based goggles passed their first round of intensive testing by soldiers, ahead of a make-or-break 2025 evaluation, Bloomberg’s Anthony Capaccio reports. The first 20 prototype IVAS 1.2 goggles, which were delivered in late July and assessed by two squads of solders to check for improvements in reliability, low-light performance and how well they fit, demonstrated improvements in reliability, low light sensor performance, and form factor in tests last month, a U.S. Army spokesman said in an email.
