Microsoft (MSFT) and Google (GOOG;GOOGL) will not challenge a new EU law requiring the companies to make it easier for consumers to move between competing services, Foo Chee and Supantha Mukherjee of Reuters reports. Back in September, the European Union picked 22 “gatekeeper” services, requiring them to inter-operate their messaging apps with competitors and allow consumers to pick which apps were pre-installed on their devices. The Digital Markets Act will apply to services from Alphabet, Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Meta (META), Microsoft, and ByteDance’s TikTok.
