Instagram will start blurring nude photos in messages, WSJ reports

Instagram is taking steps to automatically detect and blur nude photos in its direct-messaging service to help protect teens, Julie Jargon of The Wall Street Journal reports. Users who receive nude images via direct messages will see a pop-up on how to block the sender or report the chat, and a note reminding the receiver to not feel pressure to respond. Meanwhile, the sender will be advised to be cautious and be sent a reminder they can unsend the pic. The feature will be tested in the coming weeks and is expected to roll out globally within the next few months.
