Google reaches deal with Canada on Online News Act, CBC News reports

Google and Canada have reached an agreement in their dispute over the country’s Online News Act just three weeks before ONA rules come into force, CBC News’ Daniel Thibeault, David Cochrane and Darren Major report. Under the terms of the agreement, Google plans to pay news companies around C$100M per year, or roughly $74M, in return for sharing Canadian news online.
