The federal government of Canada and Google have seemed to settle their dispute over the Online News Act, CBC News reports, citing sources. Canadian news will now be shared on Google’s platforms and in return Google will make annual payments “to news companies in the range of $100M,” CBC News added, citing sources.”Having taken this first step with Google is important,’ “said the source, who asked to remain anonymous because they were not authorized to speak publicly,” added the CBC News story.
