Recent studies show recording your steps and other fitness metrics result in more physical activity, Julie Jargon of The Wall Street Journal reports. One of the clinical trials had participants wear Apple (AAPL) Watches for five weeks and found the practice of tracking steps can make you think more about health. Similarly, a six week study in Australia found that when a family all wore Garmin (GRMN) trackers, they became aware of everyone’s physical activity and inactivity, motivating the family to do outdoor activities together.
