Baird reiterated an Underperform rating on Caterpillar and raised the firm’s price target on the shares to $257 after the company reported quarterly results. The firm noted that demand momentum is clearly moderating, with pricing decelerating as well. Baird added that dealer inventory decline in Q4 was a positive, though there is “some noise” suggesting that the destocking process is not over.
