Wells Fargo initiated coverage of Carlyle with an Equal Weight rating and $42 price target. Carlyle, which Wells calls “a premier name in the alternative asset management space,” has a financial profile that is “much improved,” but its growth outlook still remains softer than peers’, the analyst tells investors. Although the stock trades at the group’s lowest valuation, the firm expects that discount to persist until growth can break out, the analyst added.
