Apple (AAPL) has selected Baidu (BIDU) to provide the AI technology for its upcoming iPhone 16 and other products in the mainland market this year, The South China Morning Post’s Iris Deng reports. Apple will use its own AI model outside China but will use Baidu’s Ernie Bot for its iPhone 16, Mac OS and iOS 18 in China, according to the report, which adds that Apple also held talks with Alibaba (BABA) and an AI company affiliated with Tsinghua University.
